- Conventional Fire Alarm Systems: Fire detection and alarm syst em are based on two technologies, featuring ‘automatic fire detectors’ (AFD), such as a smoke detector, and ‘manual call points’ (MCP), or as they are commonly known, ‘break glass units’. For smaller buildings, the most cost-effective option is to install non-addressable fire detection technology.
- Large Fire Systems: For larger buildings, with anything from four to 250 zones, pin-pointing the exact location of a fire is paramount and requires more advanced technology: analogue addressable fire detection systems. This type of system is wired in a loop; the same cable passes through the entire building and each zone is programmed with individual fire detectors each
- Domestic Alarms: Naturally, burglars don’t want to be caught so they’ll ‘case’ your home first, looking for obvious deterrents such as a prominently placed intruder alarm
